Police Quest: SWAT 2 (1998) was an isometric check over, team-based RTS game in the line of the classic X-Com or Jagged Alliance games, but with a more tactical element. The game takes place in real-time, with the player issuing instructions to party SWAT team members from a three-quarter overhead check over of the level. Many of the game's missions were based on real life actions, such as the North Hollywood spew out.

The game's story revolves around a conflict linking SWAT and an emerging left-wing domestic terrorist assemble called "the Five Eyes".
